Women's Day: People Leaders tell us How Indian Inc is Prioritizing Women Professionals' Growth
By: WE Staff
On the occasion of Women’s Day, Women Entrepreneurs Review Team spoke to people leaders from across industries to understand how Indian Inc is supporting women professionals’ growth journey. From naming unique initiatives to narrating successful stories of impact created, HR leaders highlight the importance of building a gender balanced corporate world.
Traditionally, the corporate world has been a male-domianted field. But with women’s education and empowerment taking center-stage, the number of women has been on a constant rise in the business world as well. Women today outnumber men when it comes to pursuing technical degrees and higher education. The number of women in companies’ joining ranks has also gone up over the last couple of years.
It's a surprise then, to see that women in middle management and leadership roles are not progressing as fast as one would have expected.
The good news is that companies across industries have taken notice of this phenomenon and are actively working to address the pipeline breaks in corporate structures. As research suggests, more women in leadership roles is beneficial for businesses in several ways; companies are not just doing the ethically right thing, but also the smart thing.
On the occasion of Women’s Day, we spoke to people leaders from leading Indian organizations to know how their respective companies are supporting women’s professional growth and development.
While some companies have implemented special programs to strengthen women’s representation in all sections, others are focusing on L&D initiatives. Some companies have taken the route of flexibility to allow women to navigate all aspects of their lives harmoniously. The common thread here is the willingness to give women some extra leverage to build lasting and successful careers.
HR leaders also tell us about the impact created by their respective initiatives and how lives of women professionals have benefited from these unique endeavors.
Join us as we take a look at how India INC is boosting women professionals’ growth in the Indian business world.
