Tessy Thomas 'India's Missile Woman' to Inaugurate RoboVerse VR Expo in Kochi

Dr. Tessy Thomas, India's first female scientist to lead a missile project and former Director General of Aeronautical systems at the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), will inaugurate the Manoramaonline-Jain University RoboVerse VR Expo in Kochi, showcasing advanced technology like humanoid robots, artificial intelligence machines, and virtual reality experiences. The event will take place at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Kadavanthra from 12 June to 17 June 2024 and kickstart tomorrow at 9.45 am.
Finland's Consul General Erik af Hällström will be the guest of honor at an expo in India, featuring robotics classes, career guidance sessions, and a robot history zone. The event, organized by Manoramaonline and Jain University, will be open from 10 am to 10 pm every day based on purchasing the tickets. Unique World Robotics, based in Thiruvananthapuram, provides technical support for the expo.
Dr. Tessy Thomas, born in 1963 in Kerela, India, is also known as the 'Missile Woman of India' who will head the missile project. She is an accomplished scientist who joined the DRDO in 1988. Tessy's fascination with rockets and missiles began during her upbringing near the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station. Despite financial challenges, she pursued engineering at Government Engineering College, Thrissur. Her determination and perseverance led her to become a trailblazer in missile technology.
