Indian Women's Team Lift Inaugural Kho Kho World Cup Defeating Nepal

The Indian women's kho kho team has etched its name in history by winning the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup after defeating Nepal.

Played on Sunday at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium here, India showcased speed and skill defeating the rival team with a strong 78-40 finish.

Turn 1 saw Indian attackers make a quick start as they took charge. India women scored 14 points by taking out Nepal in three batches and touches on 7 occassions.

Captain Priyanka Ingle showcased excellent form as she earned multiple touch points, bringing India to 34 points.

Vaishnavi Pawar was caught by Manmati Dhami while Priyanka Ingle eliminated B Samjhana. India’s first batch of Turn 2 tuned into the Dream Run.

Moments later Dipa completed the ALL OUT and got Nepal back in the game. But they went on to put only 24 points on the scoreboard by the end of Turn 2, with an 11-point deficit at half time.

As Turn 3 began, India again showcased a dominating game, keeping Nepal’s defenders on their feet. Nepal’s BK Dipa played well yet her hard work went in vain as India inched closer to the win.

India’s Dream Run was courtesy Chaithra and the score reached 78 points in Turn 4. The batch continued for 5 minutes and 14 seconds, bringing India closer to finalising the finishing deal. Eventually team India were crowned as champions of the Kho Kho World Championship.
