The BSF Seema Bhawani All-Women Daredevil Motorcycle Team debuted in 2016 and has since demonstrated its abilities twice at the Republic Day Parade on Rajpath in New Delhi, in 2018 and 2022.
Before arriving in Chennai on March 28, 2022, the expedition would travel through Chandigarh, Amritsar, Attari, Bikaner, Jaipur, Udaipur, Gandhinagar, Bharuch, Nasik, Pune, Solapur, Hyderabad, Anantapur Bangalore, Salem, Madurai, and Kanyakumari. The team will also visit historical sites such as India Gate in Delhi, the Wagah Attari Border in Punjab, and the Statue of Unity in Gujarat, before concluding at the Royal Enfield India Technical Centre in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
The team will meet with a variety of riding communities and audiences along the way, with the goal of raising awareness about women's skills while highlighting the importance of being free of bias, preconceptions, and discrimination.
The Empowerment Ride - 2022 honours women's accomplishments and aims to raise women's visibility so that young girls and women around the country are inspired to take on key roles in moulding the country's future.
The BSF Seema Bhawani team was issued with a Royal Enfield Classic 350 motorcycle for the arduous journey because the members are accustomed to riding this kind. Furthermore, Mr. Anuj Dua, Royal Enfield's Global Brand Head, Classic, disclosed to us that the motorcycles will be in pristine condition. The BSF riders will be accompanied on their travel by a medical staff.
