A Record 10 Women Part of Australia's New Cabinet

On Wednesday, the new 22-member Australian cabinet took oath, with a record number of women being part of it. Labor Prime Minister Anthony Albanese called it a diverse team that includes religious minorities, Indigenous Aboriginals, and a record number of women.
Malaysian-born Penny Wong has been appointed in the cabinet as the foreign and Aboriginal Linda Burney has been appointed as the indigenous affairs minister.
Anne Aly became Australia’s first female Muslim minister. She has been appointed as the head of early education and youth – one of the six ministerial portfolios outside the cabinet.
The cabinet also comprises of Richard Marles, the deputy prime minister and defense minister, as well as, Jim Chalmers as treasurer, and Kathy Gallagher as minister of finance, public services and women.Clare O’Neill was appointed as the home affairs, and Mark Dreyfus will serve as the attorney general.
Chris Bowen and Tanya Plibersek have been given climate change and energy and environment and water portfolio respectively.
