Sujyothi.N. Prasad: Adding Business Value While Empowering Women
Sujyothi.N. Prasad
Founder, Mystyle Communications
An unexpected failure or getting fired might not be an ideal way to learn a lesson, but the drive that comes later can elevate someone's personality to be a boss. Once such failure happens, people can do two things: they can either grieve around feeling ashamed and defeated, or they can take the opportunity and time to become a better person.
Most successful business leaders today are those who walked out with that dismissal note and grabbed their opportunity. Sujyothi.N Prasad gained a desire to start over, and to do things better due to one such failure. Today, she's one of the most powerful women in the content writing segment and made a name for herself as the founder at MyStyle Communications. Sujyothi tells Women Entrepreneur India about that period that changed her life and takes us through her journey.
What Prompted The Establishment Of Mystyle Communications?
As they say, most impactful business ideas come out of the personal experience, the story of MyStyle Communications was also born out of my painful experience. In 2015, while I wanted to take care of my little child, my ex-employer didn't offer me the liberty of working from home.
I certainly knew that my work was result-driven and I delivered right, even while working from home. Although I was a great performer, it happened that I was fired for not working from the office. Ironically, the current situation has forced everyone to be at home. I sometimes make fun of it, but those days were unbelievably awful.
Perhaps counter-intuitively, this incident made me realize that corporates are making us spend more time with them than with our own families. I recognized that this failure is a gift, which became more obvious when my child experienced my full time and attention. On the professional front, it taught me to look at business opportunities with the broader positive impact they can have. I understood the dire need support women who are skilled but are unable to work due to personal commitments. I wanted to make a difference in the society by supporting them regardless of the geographical and personal constraints. Today, we are here as a women-only virtual organization to create a financially independent ecosystem of women.
What Was The Most Crucial Business Challenge You Faced As An Entrepreneur?
In the fast-paced chaos of business, many brand owners overly focus on their products, projects, and day-to-day operations to become a better brand. Much often, content is put on the back burner. People forget that content is how that product makes its way into the minds of customers. Without it, there are no sales to keep the revenue flowing in.
The moment of "we need content" sneaked up unannounced when the pandemic outbreak hit the world. People today have started understanding the importance of content. Owing to the current changes, we are able to help businesses be more profitable through our selling content that drives brand presence.
We are strategists and provide only what is relevant for the brand instead of selling our business to them. That is where we make a difference. We understand every business and feel for it.

What Are Some Important Features And Expertise A Business Leader Should Have?
I believe that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to being a good leader. Leadership styles and approaches often vary widely across organization sizes, industries and sectors. However, one common trait that a leader must have is the ability to build a great team.
Successful leaders know how to use their authority appropriately and empower people to work independently. Many think that leadership is power; in reality, it is a strength that can be used to empower people and help them grow along with the organization. In short, it is all about growing together.
