My professional journey in the Indian tech and digital space is a testament to resilience, adaptability, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. From humble beginnings in Calcutta, where I defied societal norms to pursue higher education in electronics engineering, to my current role as Vice President - Digital Innovation at Tietoevry, every step has been a transformative experience. I've navigated through diverse roles at renowned organizations like Capgemini, ANZ Bank, Dell Services and TCS, mastering skill of large and complex software project delivery, application development, Project/Program/Product management, and operational excellence, driving large scale digital Transformation and Change management.

My quest for knowledge led me to pursue Advanced Business Analytics at IIM Ahmedabad, broadening my strategic acumen. Transitioning to WNS Global Solutions further refined my approach, bridging the gap between technology and business. Now, at Tietoevry, I lead a dynamic team, driving innovation and technological excellence to shape the future of digital transformation. With over two decades of enriching experiences, I continue to embrace challenges and strive for impactful change in the dynamic tech landscape overwhelmed by AI & GenAI disruption.

What role has IIM Ahmedabad played in shaping you as an individual and professional?

IIM Ahmedabad has been instrumental in shaping both my personal and professional growth in profound ways. As the VP for Digital & Innovation at Tietoevry, my primary responsibility revolves around driving new-gen business growth through cutting-edge digital technologies. I spearhead initiatives to ensure our organization remains at the forefront of innovation, enabling us to adapt swiftly to evolving market landscapes. My team and I focus on cultivating niche technology capabilities like AI/ML, GenAI, Virtual reality, and Intelligent Automation, paving the way for revenue generation and customer acquisition. Co-creating solutions with clients, leveraging the latest tech trends, is integral to our approach. Additionally, fostering internal competencies through continuous upskilling and training initiatives ensures our workforce remains adept at harnessing emerging technologies like AI/ML, IoT, blockchain, web3, cloud and more. Ultimately, our goal is to stay agile, relevant, and competitive in an ever-evolving digital ecosystem.

In your opinion what are some of the most critical challenges you encounter in your current role? What steps do you undertake to overcome these roadblocks?

In my current role, I face significant challenges, particularly in aligning cross-functional teams with shared vision and strategy. Navigating organizational silos and ensuring unified objectives can be daunting. To overcome this, I emphasize clear communication, empowerment, and fostering a shared purpose. Additionally, executing strategy poses hurdles, but I facilitate robust planning and promote accountability. Balancing the needs of diverse generations also presents ongoing challenges, demanding tailored approaches to engagement. Overall, maintaining alignment and fostering a cohesive culture are key priorities.

What has been your mantra for success over the years?

My mantra for success revolves around continuous learning, adaptability, strategic thinking, emotional intelligence, team building and the ability to inspire and motivate others. I believe in pushing myself out of my comfort zone and constantly seeking growth opportunities. Whether it's through formal education, certifications, or staying abreast of industry trends, I prioritize expanding my knowledge base. Being comfortable makes me uncomfortable!
