The Indian women's cricket team will compete in a three-match T20 series on Wednesday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai against England.

After the Women's Premier League, the Indian women’s team has received few matches to play in the last eight months, despite its March launch. After winning a T20I series against Bangladesh in July, they were tied in an ODI series that resulted in a two-match suspension for captain Harmanpreet Kaur. In September, they won the gold medal at the Asian Games.

An upgraded Indian squad will be eager to gain some advantage against the strong competitors, the England team because the next T20 World Cup will take place in Bangladesh in nine months. After the T20I series, there will be three ODIs and T20s each, as well as a single Test before India hosts Australia in a Test.

Amol Muzumdar, the coach of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team has taken charge in the past few months he stands as the pillar of the team and must maintain stability and lead the team through two challenging assignments in less than a month.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, the coach expressed his satisfaction at starting his tenure in his hometown. However, he didn't receive much time to prepare the Indian team to face England.

After about 15 days, he said, "It's been great so far." "We played a four-day game and had a small camp at the National Cricket Academy. Being a part of the team has been amazing, and I'm excited for the upcoming season. Every game counts toward the T20 World Cup that will take place the following year. The ones against Australia and England will be very significant.

The team is led by Harmanpreet and includes several new members. The Women's Caribbean Premier League's top wicket-taker, off-spinning all-rounder Shreyanka Patil, claimed five wickets in the recently concluded three-match series between India A and England A.

While pacer Titas Sadhu and left-arm spinner Mannat Kashyap were two essential players in the success of the ICC U-19 Women's T20 World Cup this year, left-arm spinner Saika Ishaque was one of the Mumbai Indians' standout players as they stormed to the WPL title.
