Braingroom, a multilingual online learning platform aimed at students from low and middle-income families, has raised Rs 1.5 crore in funding from IAN, Social Alpha, and Startup Oasis.
The funding will be used by the Chennai-based startup to create new courses and content in various languages, as well as new product features. The company is also looking to expand its market, with a goal of training one million rural students and preparing them for employment in the next three years.
BrainGroom, is an online marketplace for educational, recreational, and wellness classes with a defined target segment, quantifiable outcomes, and time constraints.
Madhula Sathyamoorthy, Naliene Ramasamy, and Kalaiarsi Periasamy, three engineering graduates, identified the need to develop impactful edtech solutions that can bridge the employability gap between urban and rural youth. As a result, they launched Braingroom in 2017.
The co-founders hope to create high-impact technical tools to facilitate quality learning outcomes for all through this multilingual online learning platform.
Madhula Sathyamoorthy, graduate of IIM, Raipur has worked at Infosys as a Senior Associate Consultant and Global Presales & Bid Manager at Hexaware Technologies prior founding Braingroom.
Madhula's big dream is to create a holistic learning environment for students. She wants everyone to live life without boundaries, to be open to new ideas, and to be willing to think outside the box. An avid reader who makes time to make a difference on a daily basis.
Klari Periasamy who has experience of almost 12 years received six awards (for six different suggestions) for developing innovative Software changes to improve the overall efficiency of an automated petroleum installation (Helped in reducing filling cycle time from 22 mins to 16mins).
Naliene Ramasamy is a product development and marketing expert. It's a dangerous combination, but Naleine has mastered it. She is passionate about bridging the gap between students and employers by launching amazing platforms for the learner community.
