Tata WPL 2023: GG Vs MI; Mumbai Indians win by 143 runs

The first match of the inaugural Tata WPL 2023 is won by Mumbai Indians defeating Gujarat Giants by 143 runs. Indian Team skipper Harmanpreet Kaur who is also leading the team Mumbai Indians has made the highest score of 65 runs in 30. She is considered to be the game changer for the team.
Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) initiative Tata Women's Premier League (WPL) 2023 started with a full swing on Saturday, March 4, and made history by starting the match between Gujarat Giants (GG) and Mumbai Indians (MI). The match began at 7:30 p.m. after the inaugural session held at the DY Patil Stadium. Bollywood celebrities like Kriti Sanon and Kiara Advani gave a mesmerizing performance to cheer up the players while music sensation AP Dhillon also gave a power-pack performance singing his songs.
The captains of the respective teams, Beth Mooney from Gujarat Giants and Harmanpreet Kaur from Mumbai Indians were present for the toss where team GG won the toss and decided to bowl first.

The franchise Mumbai Indians made a huge target of 208 runs for the opposition team Gujarat Giants. They scored 207 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur lead the team and scored the highest 65 runs in 30.
Hayley Matthews scored the second-highest score of 47 runs in 31.
Kerr was the third-highest scorer for the day with 45* runs in 24.
MI was in full form starting with great batting and ending the match with miraculous bowling taking 9 wickets off the GG team and restricting them to 64 runs in 15.1 overs. Saika Ishaque from Mumbai Indians took 4 wickets. GG captain Beth Mooney was injured during the match making no run.
