Tata WPL 2023: Delhi Capitals secures two wins in a row, beats UP Warriorz by 42 runs

The Tata WPL 2023 Delhi Capitals vs UP Warriorz: Delhi Capitals wins by 42 runs against UP Warriorz in the inaugural tournament of Tata Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023. It was the fourth day of the tournament when both the teams faced each other at the DY Patil Stadium, in Mumbai. Team UPW won the toss and elected to bowl first against DC.

Jess Jonassen from Delhi Capitals becomes the Player of the Match for her all-rounder performance by smashing 42* runs in 20 balls bagging a 3-wicket haul against UP Warriorz. It was indeed a poor decision taken by UPW to bowl first as DC made a score of 211 runs losing 4 wickets in 20 overs. DC skipper Meg Lanning became the highest run scorer for her team by securing 70 runs with 10 fours and 3 sixes. While UPW managed to secure 169 runs in a loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Apart from the heavy loss, Tahila McGarth became the highest run scorer of yesterday’s match. Tahila made 90 runs in 50 balls with 11 fours and 4 sixes. She became the top performer in yesterday’s match, it is so far the highest individual run score in the ongoing tournament of WPL.
