Indian communities are changing and contributing to the nation's next growth narrative by participating in financial inclusion. Neeru Yadav, the village Sarpanch of Lambi Ahir in Rajasthan, worked with SBI Jaipur to set the stage for spreading knowledge of the Sukanya Samridhhi Yojana, an initiative of the Indian government, as a step towards this planned expansion.
The goal of this awareness campaign was to instill in the village women the habit of saving money to pay for the future education of their female offspring. Almost 100 women took part in the financial awareness program that SBI arranged in association with Lambi Ahir, Buhana Tehsil's Sarpanch, and Neeru Yadav.
The local women equally contribute to the agricultural fields and manage to make money by selling the agricultural output, according to Neeru Yadav, Sarpanch of Lambi Ahir village in Rajasthan.
Despite being the primary provider for their family, they have no idea how to manage their money using new government-sponsored programs for saving, investing, and controlling expenses. I want to teach these ladies about money management so they can pay for their daughters' schooling.
Virtually the majority of the female participants desired to save aside money and support their girl children's future education. The curiosity in creating a Sukanya Samriddhi Account was piqued by SBI officials, and soon the female participants would have running accounts.
State Bank of India's Local Head Office (LHO), located in Jaipur, was quoted as saying, "We keep on doing such awareness programs at the village level, but I have seen the enthusiasm of Neeru Yadav, Lambi Ahir Village Sarpanch, and upon response locally in the village, we have decided to extend our support by deputing a team in the village for routinely providing information on financial services such as savings, Sukanya samri."
The first youthful Sarpanch in Lambi Ahir, Tehsil Buhana, Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, is Neeru Yadav. The village of Lambi Ahir lies closer to the Haryana border and has a mainly Yadav population. As soon as she founded a women's hockey team in her village, the locals began referring to her as a "Hockey Wali Sarpanch."
To provide her town with a dedicated playground, hockey equipment, jerseys, and a coach, she gave her salary and established a foundation. She continues to inspire these female hockey players by organizing inter-city and inter-state events. Neeru Yadav has inspired the other ladies in the town to break out from their societal norms and do something amazing by empowering female hockey players.
