A new book presents 16 brief accounts of strong women from all sections of Indian society who made unique choices on how to speak up and stand up for themselves.

Nidhi Gogia, who has experienced severe body shaming, is passionate about promoting women's rights, gender equality, and other non-binary societal issues. Her mission is to raise awareness and speak out for the community of women. She writes "Power Of Nisa" (published by AuthorHouse UK), a collection of 16 short stories featuring a cast of 16 characters that explores the lives of both heard and unheard women in contemporary India.

Teenage Rumaisa, who was sobbing on Kolkata's ghats, was unaware of Vidhya's sufferings as she fought for her own rights. Nevertheless, Rukhsar's father defied the stereotype, so why was Suman under fire? Little Zoya had no idea where they were going. Sargam emerged from the other person's web eight years later, and Niharika's lengthy trek was not simple. Although it still hurts her, Kanak beat the odds whereas Anokhi had to face the obstacles. Advocate Rohima had the option to end her life, but she decided against it.

In 21st-century India, where a widow is expected to eat curd and rice, numerous stigmas continue to be obstacles for women. Nevertheless, these 16 powerful women from various facets of Indian culture made a decision to voice and act for themselves in diverse ways. The presence of each character is introduced to readers through poetry, sketches, and illustrations. These women are adept at handling the dispersed aspects of life like water in a mould. Stories that will cause students to reevaluate their understanding of life and of themselves as people.

"There is a lesson to be learned from each of these tales regarding what we can each do to combat the problems that are currently plaguing society. How can we help those who are victims around us, even if we aren't the victims?" Gogia claims. When questioned about what she hopes readers would acquire from the book, she responds, "Positivity and strength to speak against injustice and to walk away from anything which is limiting your true potential. Understand the fact that any relation is not sustainable if it calls only one partner/ family to compromise their dreams and desires (no adjustment is there from the other partner) and when there is no love and respect in any relation."
