KanikaTekriwal Named Richest Self-Made Entrepreneur in India

KanikaTekriwal, the CEO and founder of JetSetGo, a plane aggregator startup has been named as the youngest self-made entrepreneur in India by the Kotak Private Banking Hurun Leading Wealthy Women List 2021. Kanika who has a net wealth of INR 420 croreis only 33 making her the youngest entrant in the list.
Kanika hails from a Bhopal based Marwari family. She is also an MBA graduate. She founded JetSetGo, which is often called as the Uber of Indian skies in 2012 along with her friend SudheerPerla. JetSetGo manages, flies, and operates chartered planes and helicopters for the owners. The company currently owns 10 private jets.
Kanika founded the company after identifying the challenges in the private aviation industry. She intended to fix these loopholes and democratize air travel for all. She thus came up with a unique approach which provided her with the edge.
She has mentioned that her entrepreneurial journey was no cake walk. She had to battle casual sexism and the conservative views of her family. Kanika who recently got married to a Hyderabad based businessman now intends to import four more planes through the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) in 2022-23, as she mentioned to a leading daily.
