JKEDI and Startup India Collaborate for a Workshop to Empower Women

A workshop aimed at empowering female entrepreneurs in the UT of J&K was jointly organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) and Startup India (DPIIT), both organizations of the Indian Government. Under the general direction of the Commissioner Secretary of Industries and Commerce, the workshop was started.
The event’s chief guest was Dr. Hina Shafi who is the Vice Chairperson of the KVIB. She gave an assurance to the Director JKEDI that every effort would be made to connect these aspiring female entrepreneurs with funding through various schemes made by KVIB.
Innovative sessions like "Journey of the Startup Ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir and Support by Startup JK" were included in the workshop. These sessions were led by Kritika Narula and Neha Nagpal who are experts from Startup India.
Several other programs have also been introduced to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship under the guidance of Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha and the Chief Secretary, J&K, the Government. Some of the highly regarded programs were "My Town, My Pride" and "Back to Village".
JKEDI and Startup India want to promote a thriving culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and gender equality by making it easier for them to integrate into the vibrant ecosystem of the nation. The goal is to close the gap between aspiring business owners and established industry professionals.
The workshop saw a total of 150 aspiring entrepreneurs and startups attended, and they all acknowledged the objectives taken by JKEDI and Startup India on such a motivating event.
