The woman robot astronaut, "Vyommitra" is about to set on an amazing space mission. India's space exploration activities would be significantly advanced by Vyommitra, which was designed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). India's first human-manned space flight, ISRO's 'Gaganyaan' mission, will have her during the space expansion.
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science, Technology, and Space mentioned "The uncrewed "Vyommitra" mission is scheduled for the third quarter of this year while a manned mission "Gaganyaan" is scheduled to be launched next year, that is, 2025."
"Vyoma, which means space, and Mitra, which means friend, are the two Sanskrit terms from which the name Vyommitra originates. This female robot astronaut can perform life support procedures, send out notifications, and keep an eye on module parameters. It is capable of handling six panels and answering questions, among other things," he said.
Jitendra Singh said that the astronaut named "Vyommitra" was created to replicate human functions in space and communicate with the life support system. India's first manned space flight, 'Gaganyaan', was launched with the first Test Vehicle Flight TV D1 completed on October 21, ensuring the crew escapes and parachute systems were fully qualified.
Vyommitra can communicate in Hindi and English according to her programming. The Vyommitra mission without crew is expected to launch in the third quarter of this year.
After that, in 2025, India plans to launch its highly ambitious "Gaganyaan" project, which will take Indian astronauts into space. A crew of astronauts will be sent into an orbit around 400 kilometers above Earth's surface as part of the Gaganyaan project. These astronauts will land in India's sea waters as a safe means of returning to Earth after their space mission.
