At a G7 summit session on food security and gender equality on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed that India's strategy has changed from women's development to women-led development.

Additionally, Modi recommended that in order to ensure food security, attention should be paid to the availability of fertilisers, a structured system for utilising Indian agricultural talent, nutrient-dense substitutes like millets, and organic farming.

"PM @narendramodi addressed the @G7 Session on food security and gender equality, sharing India's experiences in these domains. Emphasised that India's approach had transitioned from women's development' to women-led development'," Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted.

"The following areas of focus were identified by (the prime minister) for achieving food security: 1. The availability of fertilisers 2. A systemized approach to use Indian agricultural expertise 3. Healthful substitutes like millets 4. Natural agriculture, "He stated in a different tweet.

Earlier, during the G7 Summit's session on "Investing in a brighter Future: Climate, Energy, and Health," Modi made the assertion that India's performance demonstrates its commitment to its climate obligations.

Additionally, he asked the wealthy G-7 nations to participate in the enormous market for emerging clean energy technology in India and expressed his hope that they will assist India in its efforts to tackle climate change.

As the world leaders gathered for a group photo prior to the summit, Prime Minister Modi shook hands with US President Joe Biden and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The countries of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK, and the US make up the intergovernmental Group of Seven (G7). A "non-enumerated member" is the European Union.

Argentina, India, Indonesia, Senegal, and South Africa have all been extended invitations by the German Presidency to the G7 Summit in Elmau, Bavaria.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz extended an invitation to Modi, who is now attending the G7 summit.
