Participants in the RMIT Apple Foundation Program received guidance about the fundamental knowledge and techniques needed to develop mobile applications.
The Swift Programming language is well-maintained and user-friendly for learners. It is used to create programs for iPhones. iPad, Mac, and other related devices. At the end of the program, groups showcased their original app concepts to their mentors, industry representatives, peers, and RMIT and Apple specialists.
With only 29 per cent of workers being women, the technology sector persists in a large gender gap. This ground-breaking program seeks to eradicate this gap by providing women with a healthy working environment. The program witnessed 60 per cent of the students from non-STEM backgrounds, showcasing the accessibility of the program. 90 per cent of the graduates from this program mentioned that they would prefer to continue developing apps following the course. Students in the program work on a wide range of app themes specifically related to social justice.
Many students have upskilled their talent in programming an application that helps in social welfare through this Foundation Program in 2023. This year, the RMIT Apple Foundation Program has released its applications for interested students to join in.
