The administration has urged women in the region to participate in the fifth edition of the Jal Shakti Abhiyan Catch the Rain (JSACTR) campaign, focusing on water conservation and sustainable management. The "Nari Shakti Se Jal Shakti" event was launched at the NDMC Convention Centre in New Delhi. The Deputy Commissioner of Malerkotla, Punjab, Dr. Pallavi, expressed satisfaction with the progress in tapping rainwater since the campaign's launch.

Dr. Pallavi has successfully urged women in both rural and urban areas to act as "women water warriors" to enhance the campaign's impact. Officials in various departments have also been advised to involve women in their respective areas to combat over-exploitation of water resources. The DC mentioned, "Though we have already succeeded in sensitizing women, associated with various government and public organizations, about their role in the conservation of water, we have drafted a plan to involve women of the rural and urban localities as 'women water warriors' to maximize the output during this phase of the campaign concluding on November 30."

The fifth JSACTR campaign, "Nari Shakti Se Jal Shakti," emphasizes women's role in water conservation. It includes interventions like rainwater harvesting and conserving, geo-tagging of water bodies, afforestation, awareness generation, and establishing Jal Shakti Kendras in all regions, aiming to establish a strong connection between women's empowerment and water resource management. The DC suggests women can lead the campaign efficiently utilizing and protecting water resources, as they are the most affected by water supply disruptions.
