20 Female Candidates Secure Victory in Rajasthan Assembly Elections

In Rajasthan, twenty out of the fifty female candidates secured their victory in the assembly elections, although their representation in the House decreased slightly from the previous assembly. Two independents and nine members of the BJP and Congress each made up the winning female candidates.
This time around, 50 women registered their names in the elections where 20 were supported by the BJP, 28 by the Congress, and 2 were Independents.
Shimla Devi from Anupugarh, Sushila Dudi from Nokha, Rita Chaudhary from Mandawa, Shika Meel Barala from Chomu, Shobharani Kushwah from Dholpur, Anita Jatav from Hindaun, Indra from Baganwas, Geeta Barwar from Bhopalgarh, and Ramila Khadia from Kushalgarh were the nine Congress candidates who emerged victorious win.
Diya Kumari (Vidhyadhar Nagar), Anita Bhadel (Ajmer South), Manju Baghmar (Jayal), Shobha Chauhan (Sojat), Deepti Kiran Maheshwari (Rajsamand), Kalpna Devi (Ladpura), Vasundhara Raje (Jhalrapatan), Siddhi Kumari (Bikaner East), and Nauksham Chaudhary (Kaman) were the women's candidates for the BJP.
As Independents, Ritu Banawat (Bayana) and Priyanka Chaudhary (Barmer) came out on top.
The 15th Rajasthan Assembly, which is currently in session, comprises 24 female members: 12 from the Congress, 10 from the BJP, 1 from the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP), and 1 Independent.
With 115 seats gained out of the 199 seats up for election in last week's assembly elections, the BJP retook power in Rajasthan on Sunday.
The Congress won 68 seats in an attempt. The Congress was leading by only a few votes in the race for the one seat that would determine the outcome. Three seats were won by the Bharat Adivasi Party, two by the Bahujan Samaj Party, and one each by the Rashtriya Lok Dal and Rashtriya Loktantrik Party. The Independents won eight seats. November 25 marked the start of voting in 199 of the 200 seats in the state.
