Prernaa Mangla, the Founder & Creative Director of MWM Spaces, is no exception here. She is a Bachelor in Design (interiors) from Apeejay Institute of Design and Post-Graduate in Project Management, who fulfilled her dreams of becoming an entrepreneur by finding her interior designing company MWM Spaces. Her urge to design and build beautifully crafted interior spaces made her get her first job with the company that designs offices. Later, she shifted to designing restaurants, retail stores, and entertainment centres.

Prernaa has designed and developed events and exhibitions too, but her love for designing homes was eternal. That motivated her to start the venture. To give life to the spaces and by creating spectacular houses, Prernaa has been committed to make a mark in the interior designing space with innovations and uniqueness. She and her team are keen to deliver bespoke interior, furniture, and exclusive lighting design services to the clientele by harnessing the latest technology enthralled with luxurious interiors.

In her latest interview with us, Prernaa has shared her views as an entrepreneur, interior designer and how her journey has been to date.

Give a brief overview of MWM spaces. Tell us about the different services provided by your company.

I founded MWM Spaces to deliver unique interior designs for homes. We are a top-notch interior designing company in India that believes in the power of architecture and designing. We understand our clients’ requirements to the depth and deliver accordingly. Our strength is that we know the Indian culture and its lifestyle, hence we can provide the solutions that fit best our clients’ needs and budget. We guide people on the right track who invests their hard-earned savings in building a home with the best of our knowledge and experience.

MWM Spaces offers Interior and Architecture Consultancy, Furniture, Interior and architecture Execution, Vaastu consultation, and MEP consultation and execution. we want to be associated as Luxury furniture brand as well as we have team of 25 years experience craftsman in our factory.

What are the various roles and responsibilities that you currently shoulder at MWM spaces? What are some of the most challenging aspects of your role as the founder? How do you overcome them?

I am the brain behind the creation of MWM Spaces and possess more than 12 years of experience in high-end interiors. I believe that the success of a design lies in the harmony of all components. Thus, I detail out the smallest of elements of designs with unique flavours by implementing the latest technologies and trends that make the design look not only good but exclusive.

The most challenging part was to take that initial step of becoming an entrepreneur. Even being a mother of an infant, I left working on a fixed salary basis and started this venture. However, the Pandemic helped me realize that nothing is permanent, and I should live my dreams to the fullest.

Another, major challenge for me was to build a massive 25000 sq. ft. factory and have the latest machinery with all basic requirements at the first phase of setting up a company. However, we leaped to give the best quality to our end users.

Enlighten us with some of your design philosophies. What are the significant milestones that you have achieved so far in your professional journey?

Interior Designing is a practical industry and theories do not stand here most of the time. My expertise comes from my long-time experience of working on multiple projects from where I had learned to understand the quality of materials used and the importance of skilled workers. Interiors are a representation of a personality and lifestyle and the best designs come from understanding the personality of our clients through their lifestyle. Different customers have different choices and every day we work hard to meet their expectations here. I have created spaces of all styles with the harmony of colors and shapes as to me those are keys for incredible designing. I draw inspiration from everywhere around the world; sometimes from a blank canvas.

Also, I follow the latest trends, visit the market for new products, talk to vendors and manufacturers regularly. I try not to miss attending conferences, seminars, or exhibitions. As a company, we try to implement the latest technology and trends as much as possible to deliver more beauty than even expected.

I have worked on different projects including designing restaurants, flats, villas, offices, exhibitions, and events. I have worked for multiple MNC’s like Microsoft, Nippon Steel, Maruti to a small nuclear family. For me, this is my achievement. I have faith in my dreams and the constant support from my family has been my continuous driving force. And I believe that my client’s trust and reliability in my capabilities is my real key to success. However, as an entrepreneur, I am still working toward progress and gaining experience with each passing day.

As a successful entrepreneur what would your advice be to young women and girls aspiring to become business leaders and entrepreneurs in the future?

I would suggest them to believe in yourself and believe you can achieve your dreams. No hurdles are bigger than our dreams. Try to understand your priorities and manage them accordingly.

We girls are multitaskers and we should never think to give up our passion.
