During a personal interview with us, Aditi shared insights into her educational journey, professional experiences, visions, and challenges.
What are some important facets of your life and professional journey that you wish to highlight through the article?
I was born into a family of doctors and raised with values of ethics, integrity, and dedication instilled in me. Growing up with healthcare discussions and patient care conversations as daily topics fostered a profound respect for the medical field and a commitment to its highest standards. My professional journey includes diverse experiences such as working in a government college for five years, consulting in corporate hospitals as maxillofacial surgeon and managing multiple dental clinic chains. I specialize in dental implants, and facial aesthetics, including injectables, Botox, fillers, hair transplant surgeries, and smile designs. I believe in continuous learning, regularly participating in workshops, and staying updated with emerging technologies and practices. All these experiences have provided me with a multi-faceted view of patient care, specialization, and management. I have had the privilege of working alongside esteemed professionals and world-renowned surgeons. This experience shaped me and exposed me to high work standards. Their invaluable training has continually inspired me to strive for excellence.
Tell us about your educational journey. What led you to foray into healthcare and specialize as an oral and facial surgeon?
I completed my graduation from Rajasthan University where I earned a Gold medal in my final year. Later on, I did my internship at a government dental college and spent five years as a junior lecturer in the Department of Surgery at Ahmedabad Municipal College, a prestigious government institution. Comprehensive education aligned with a high patient flow experience helped me to specialize in maxillofacial surgeries. Inspired by my experiences there, I pursued a master’s in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bangalore and graduated with distinction. This advanced education helped me to deepen my expertise and hone my surgical skills in specialized areas such as dental and facial surgeries. I further specialized in hair transplant surgery and facial injectables, including Botox, fillers and threads. My foray into the medical field was highly influenced by my medical family background, instilling in me a strong dedication and commitment to upholding the highest standards of patient care.
Women’s commitment to patient care, driven by emotional investment, is reshaping the healthcare landscape
Could you introduce us to Elite Esthetics & Dental Clinic and describe the key roles and responsibilities you undertake as the clinic's founder?
Elite Esthetics and Dental Clinic provides advanced dental, facial aesthetics, and hair transplant surgeries. Our clinic offers a full spectrum of treatments for oral, facial, and hair needs, providing patients with holistic and coordinated care. We are equipped and staffed with a team of highly skilled professionals across various disciplines and also collaborate with top consultants. We ensure a multi-disciplinary approach enabling us to provide cohesive treatment planning offering both effective results and convenience. As the founder, my key roles include overseeing daily operations, coordinating between specialists, ensuring personalized patient care, and integrating the latest technologies and techniques. I prioritize clear communication between my team of doctors and patients and ensure everyone is well-informed regarding treatment options and processes. I also manage the diverse team at the clinic and strive to uphold the highest standards of ethical care and excellence.
In your opinion what are some of the most critical challenges you encounter in your current role? What steps do you undertake to overcome
As both a doctor and a clinic owner I face multiple challenges simultaneously. My primary challenge is coordinating a diverse team of professionals ensuring seamless communication and clarity in treatment plans. I believe in creating a positive work environment and implementing it through a regular team meeting and one-on-one check-ins. On the management front, I also handle marketing and promotional activities and develop strategies for social media, website maintenance, and community engagement. This includes raising patient awareness through blogs, brochures, and workshops. Balancing patient care with strategic management presents challenges, but I embrace these challenges as opportunities to improve our services and patient comfort.
How do you see women's representation in Indian healthcare evolving, and how can we encourage more women to pursue and practice medicine across different social segments?
My mother has worked in government healthcare for over 30 years, and I've seen significant progress in women's representation in Indian healthcare. I believe women are deeply committed to patient care and driven by emotional investment. This progress is also supported by increased educational opportunities, gender equality, and societal recognition. Supportive work environments provided by male colleagues and with the family help women successfully balance their careers and personal lives. We must raise awareness of diverse opportunities, highlight specializations, promote work-life balance, mentorship, and flexible work conditions, and showcase successful women. With these efforts, the future for women in healthcare is promising.
