Entrepreneurship is a dream for many, but few possess the necessary skills and gumption to make it a reality. What inspired you to pursue your entrepreneurial dream?
Coming from a business family, I always had the dream of starting something new. It was inspiring to see my father work in the logistics industry, witnessing firsthand how the industry shapes the economy and the country.
After completing my engineering and my PG in the US, I worked in startups in Silicon Valley—but I always knew I wanted to move back.
It was a tough decision to give up a well-paying job to join the industry. But, the journey has been really rewarding in terms of the growth and impact we create.
The Indian startup ecosystem is thriving, but perfection is still a work in progress. What is one change you would suggest in the immediate future?
There is currently ample support for women entrepreneurs in the Indian startup ecosystem. However, one change I would like to see is more mentorship, especially for those just starting. Founders often face challenges with compliance, talent acquisition, funding, and making the right decisions at the right time. Having more experienced mentors could significantly push the ecosystem forward.
While there have been government initiatives to ease the process of starting and scaling businesses, there’s still a long way to go. The process involves navigating multiple departments and extensive diligence, and simplifying this would allow founders to focus more on growth.
