9 APRIL2022The Adani Foundation has developed an entrepreneurial program in Sewapuri, Varanasi, in collaboration with the UP Handicrafts Development and Marketing Corporation Limited, Lucknow, and the Khadi Village Industries Board, Lucknow. Through a variety of income-generating activities, the initiative will meet the employment needs of over 1,500 rural women. It will serve as a catalyst for skilled women's social and economic development, according to a news statement.A team from the Adani Skill Development Centre organized three months of skill development training for 1,500 women in four trades: uniform stitching, shoemaking, sweater making, and incense stick manufacturing. Several activities such as sensitization, mobilization, and enrolment of women in the training program will be used during the course to assist them in realizing their full potential.A sewing machine operation and business skills training program for 69 women has also been organized. They're learning how to sew uniforms and bags. Two batches of incense stick makers have also begun, with a total of 131 women enrolled. The Khadi and Village Industries Board in Lucknow, as well as the Union Area Development Committee in Varanasi, have generously donated their facilities and campuses for the training programs. The program would encourage women to form self-help groups (SHGs) to improve their lives and make them financially self-sufficient. Women will be taught in vignette credit and thrift operations, as well as bookkeeping, business planning, and market connections once they have been organized into SHGs.The creation of a value chain will be created by providing support for entrepreneurial activities such as risk management, fraud management, product advancement, tie-ups with marketing agencies & line departments, branding, products, and manufacturers through the formation of a women-led manufacturing organization. It will bring the organization and the market together, resulting in a sustainable environment and the empowerment of women entrepreneurs.
