8 APRIL2022In the next 100 days, the Uttar Pradesh government plans to transfer the grant for the first three months of the fiscal year 2022-23 online to beneficiaries of the Destitute Women's Pension Scheme, Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, and Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana. Every 15 days, the Women's Welfare Department will host a series of self-sufficiency camps for women in various blocks across the state, as well as accept and approve application forms for worthy applicants under the aforementioned schemes.This was revealed at the department's recent presentation on its intentions for the next five years. The state government will also seek to merge the `One Stop Centre' and the `Women's Empowerment Centre' to provide a variety of services, including raising awareness of government financial assistance, opportunities for employment, self-employment, skill development, and facilitating the transfer of welfare benefits to the people.Following the presentation, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath instructed officials to develop and implement effective policies and programs for women empowerment and children's overall development. Officials were also told that at least one protective house and a women's shelter should be established as soon as possible at each divisional headquarters. They were also told to take Mission Shakti's next phase to the gram panchayat level.Meanwhile, the Women's Welfare Department plans to simplify and influence the recipients of the Mukhaymantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana by amending some phrases in the rules. In the following six months, the agency wants to map the capabilities of women linked with institutions, as well as children above the age of 16, and develop their abilities.Furthermore, in the next years, the state government would open three shelter homes in Moradabad, Ghaziabad, and Ghazipur, each with a capacity of 100 women, at a cost of Rs. 6.74 crore, Rs 7.18 crore, and Rs 6.29 crore, respectively. In the next two years, the state government would ensure that all beneficiaries receive grants under the Destitute Women's Pension Scheme, Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, and Mukhayamantri Bal Seva Yojana every three months.The Bharatiya Janata Party promised in its Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra released ahead of the UP assembly elections to increase the monthly pension for widows under the Destitute Women's Scheme from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 1500 and the total amount to Kanya Sumangala Yojana beneficiaries from Rs. 15000 to Rs. 25,000 in five years.
