Kavita Sharma, Co-founder & CEO, Ziyyara Edutech (ed-tech platform) on How to Inspire Inclusion in the Indian Startup Ecosystem

“As a female entrepreneur in India, seeing that diversity and inclusiveness are the key elements that comprise a growing ecosystem is very important. To realize this objective, various players will have to come together. The government has the power to formulate policies and programs targeting women entrepreneurs and providing them with support and financial assistance. Such policies include funding schemes and mentorship programs suited to their needs. Business organizations can design workshops, networking events, and skills-building programs specifically oriented to women which will build up their community sustainably. VC firms need to strive to find female CEO startups where they can invest based on merit. Furthermore, entrepreneurs can support the fight for gender diversity in their companies through equal chances and unbiased treatment of each employee. The synergistic efforts of these entities enable them to build a supportive network that gives women entrepreneurs a sense of power, respect, and involvement, fueling innovative thinking and progress.”

Kavita’s message to other womenfolk across India on International Women’s Day:

On the subject of International Women's Day, I'd like to stir up courage in the hearts of women in the whole of India by pointing out their strong potential. It is time to congratulate ourselves, the small actions and the big ones, and to continue to look ahead and pursue a sustainable and egalitarian society. Recall that your voice is important, your dream is a right, and you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. Let us shatter the walls of discrimination, defy gender norms, and provide a chance for every woman to be a success. Happy International Women's Day!
