Monalisha Thakur, Co-founder & CMO of Tummoc (Public Transit App) on How to Inspire Inclusion in the Indian Startup Ecosystem

As a woman entrepreneur in the Indian startup landscape, I firmly believe that inclusion is not just a goal but a critical necessity for thriving an entrepreneurial ecosystem.

To inspire inclusion, we need concerted efforts from everyone in this space - the government, business bodies, and fellow entrepreneurs.

It would be great if some government policies could help with grants specifically targeted towards women-led start-ups, as well as implementing measures to address gender bias and discrimination.

At the same time, it is our responsibility as entrepreneurs to advocate for gender-inclusive practices like promoting a supportive work environment within their companies, being mindful in the hiring and decision-making processes, and creating platforms for networking, mentorship, and collaboration specifically tailored to women entrepreneurs. By promoting diversity and providing resources and support, these organizations can help increase women's participation in the startup community.

Ultimately, inspiring inclusion in the Indian startup situation requires a collective effort from everyone. By working together to address systemic barriers, challenge stereotypes, and create opportunities for women entrepreneurs, we can build a more diverse, equitable, and prosperous economy

Monalisha’s message for womenfolk across India on International Women’s Day: “My message to all the incredible women in India and across the globe, on this International Women’s Day, I want you to remind yourself of your strength, resilience, and your potential.

Always believe in yourself, pursue your dreams, and never let anyone dim your light. Together, we can continue breaking barriers, shattering stereotypes, and carving our paths to success

Here’s to celebrating each other, lifting each other, and creating a world where every woman’s voice is heard and valued. Happy International Women’s Day!”
