Entrepreneurship is a dream for many, but few possess the necessary skills and gumption to make it a reality. What inspired you to pursue your entrepreneurial dream?
India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem still presents systemic challenges for women, particularly in accessing capital. Despite data showing that women-led and diverse teams deliver better returns, unconscious biases often influence investment decisions. This disconnect limits opportunities for women founders, even in sectors where they thrive. Additionally, traditional structures rarely account for challenges women face, such as managing caregiving alongside scaling businesses. To change this, we need transparent funding mechanisms, more women in decision-making roles, and targeted policies that prioritize diversity. When women succeed, they don’t just grow businesses—they create sustainable impact and inspire the next generation of leaders.
The Indian startup ecosystem is thriving, but perfection is still a work in progress. What is one change you would suggest in the immediate future?
Turning an idea into reality requires boldness, perseverance, and focus. Start by validating your idea with real customers to ensure it meets genuine needs. Build confidence in your vision and advocate strongly for yourself, especially when seeking funding. Data is on your side—women-led ventures often outperform—so leverage this to make your case. Stay prepared for biases but remain determined to push through. Prioritize clarity in your goals, adaptability in your approach, and persistence in execution. Entrepreneurship is a journey of constant learning. Believe in your ability to create impact, and trust that the ecosystem will catch up with your ambition.
