Anupama Kundoo is a remarkable Indian architect known for her innovative and sustainable design approach. She studied at the Sir J.J. College of Architecture and earned a doctorate from the Technical University of Berlin. She focuses on energy and water-efficient infrastructure, minimizing environmental impact through material research and community engagement. Her "Wall House" and "Liberty" are two remarkable projects. The "Wall House" is an L-shaped house in Auroville, that combines modern and traditional materials. The replica was exhibited at the Venice Biennale of Architecture whereas the "Liberty" is a free library with steel-made trees and salvaged books. Anupama is known for her low environmental impact and context-based designs. She has received the 2021 RIBA Charles Jencks Award for sustainable construction methods and also authored several noteworthy books.
