8 JUNE2022Australian multinational construction, property, and infrastructure company Lendlease has appointment Sunita Bottse as the head of its data center division in Asia-Pacific. In her new role Sunita will lead the $1 billion Lendlease Data Centre Partners (LDCP) joint venture, which is currently developing a $600 miliion 120MW hyperscale data center in Greater Tokyo, Japan. The construction of LDCP is all set to begin in June. Prior to the role leading Lendlease Data Centre Partners, Sunita was the CEO of SuperNAP Thailand, a Tier-IV data center developed to the designs of Switch's US SuperNAP facilities, but is an independent business. Earlier Sunita spent four years as VP of LATAM data center business Ctex.Andrew Gauci, head of telecoms and data infrastructure at Asia, said: "We are delighted to have Sunita onboard. She brings with her both rich and diverse experience in the data center space, and her deep expertise and industry experience will be an asset to Lendlease as we drive greater growth in acquisition, development, construction and investment in data centers". "I look forward to working with Sunita to scale up our data center business, one of our key growth sectors in Asia, to new heights".20 percent of the LDCP joint venture is funded by Lendlease, with the remaining funds coming from an undisclosed institutional investor. The company is also planning to set-up data centers in Australia, China, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore. LDCP was previously heded by Sam Lee. In his new position Sam will function as the managing director of market and commercial development at EdgeConneX.
