9 AUGUST2024The SBI Foundation has inducted the 12th batch of SBI Youth for India Fellowship Program, with 52 per cent women in the August cohort. The program, which includes 51 fellows from various parts of India, aims to create positive change in underserved communities. The cohort also includes 69 per cent working professionals. The inauguration ceremony at Barefoot College-SWRC in Tilonia, Rajasthan, marked the commencement of a 13-month journey for a diverse group of fellows from various parts of India.The SBI Youth for India Fellowship, a SBI Foundation initiative is a one-year program aimed at empowering young professionals to work on rural development projects in India. The program focuses on improving the quality of life in rural communities, addressing issues like education, healthcare, and livelihood enhancement. The fellowship provides extensive training and exposure to help participants develop skills in project management, community engagement, and sustainable practices. Over 13 months, the program collaborates with 13 NGOs to provide educated human resources for rural development and sustainable growth in India.Sanjay Prakash, MD & CEO of SBI Foundation, mentioned, "Over the past decade, the Youth for India Fellowship has empowered more than 580 change-makers, working in over 250 villages across 20 Indian states and Union Territories, touching the lives of almost 1.5 lakh community members.
