Influential Women Leaders Share Thoughts on Union Budget 2025

On February 1, 2025, Union Finance Minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman presented her 8th Budget i.e., Union Budget for 2025-26 in Parliament. During her speech, FM emphasized the focus areas of this year’s budget which include agriculture, industry, health, and education. This year’s budget also provides relief offering to the common public of the nation, as well as creates opportunities for employment.

The Union Budget 2025-26 put the focus on improving welfare programmes in addition to financial incentives specifically for women, poor, youth and farmers.

FM Sitharaman also made some announcements regarding the significant reforms to the Personal Income Tax (PIT) system with mentions of Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) and Tax Collected at Source (TCS) rationalisation, aiming at compliance burden reduction.

Additionally, this budget also included some exciting announcements for female entrepreneurs. As per the announcement, government would launch a term loan program of Rs 2 crore for a total of 5 lakh first-time entrepreneurs who are women or comes under the SC, and ST category.
