Yukta Mookhey (1999)
Yukta Mookhey, an advocate of social change represented India at the 49th Miss World pageant in 1999 in Olympia, London, and secured the prestigious title. She has won the Femina Miss India World title in the same year. Yukta is an environmental activist, and social and charitable advocate who worked for underprivileged people suffering from acute diseases guiding young girls towards self-awareness.
During the Q&A round, she was asked " If you could be anyone in the world, who you want to be?" She responded, "It would have to be Audrey Hepburn. It was her inner beauty, compassion, and her aura. The calm that she had inside her reflected."
Yukta also won the Miss World Asia and Oceania and Miss Photogenic titles during the competition.
