Mahua Moitra (AITC)
By defeating BJP’s Amrita Roy with 56705 votes, Mahua Moitra secured her victory for Krishnanagar Lok Sabha constituency of West Bengal. Having a background as a former investment banker, she entered into the political battleground after resigning from JPMorgan Chase and served as the MP, Lok Sabha from 2019 to 2023 followed by her winning in Indian general election 2019 as a party candidate of All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) from Krishnanagar. Her triumph had shut all the allegations Mahua had about the bribes acceptance and termed them as baseless and a political vendetta.
Supriya Sule, NCP (SP)
Daughter of Sharad Pawar (the founder of Nationalist Congress Party), Supriya Sule secured 7,32,312 votes, representing Baramati constituency (Maharashtra) and won against NCP’s Ajit Pawar-led faction, Sunetra Ajitdada Pawar. She contested the elections from Sharad Pawar faction of NCP. During her political existence, Supriya has won the Lok Sabha polls in 2009 and 2019 against BJP, 2014 against RSPS, all from Baramati. She has been a leader to NCP (SP) since 2014 in LS. Besides, she has also catered as the MP of Rajya Sabha from 2006 to 2009 in the state of Maharashtra.
