Vaishali Rawat
Founder & Chief Consultant, Career Midas
While the success of any organization is mostly evaluated from its overall revenue and growth rate, one of the primary factors that often gets ignored regarding its contribution to the firm's success is its workforce. The importance of recruiting the right mix of employees with perfectly synced professional attributes plays a vital role in an organization’s success and therefore requires a deep understanding of the market as well as effective mapping skillsets.Starting her career in the educational sector, Vaishali later worked in the banking sector before starting her own recruitment firm Career Midas in 2013. Over the years, under her inspiring leadership and able guidance, Career Midas has become one of the most distinguished names in the recruitment industry while focusing on providing the best recruitment experience to various organizations. In an exclusive interview with Women Entrepreneur, Vaishali sheds light on her educational and professional career, the underlying idea behind starting Career Midas and the organization’s position in the market, and much more:
Take us through your early educational journey and the prior industry experience that you bring to the table.
After my MBA, I started my career as a Center Head for an educational organization. Later I joined a leading bank as part of their home loan division managing its entire home loan operations. Later, I took a maternity break as I was expecting my elder daughter. That break gave me some much-needed time to decide how to move ahead with my career. From the beginning, I was pretty clear about not continuing to do a job for a longer time. I explored various opportunities and business ideas before zeroingin on starting my recruitment organization.
What motivated you to establish Career Midas? Tell us about the underlying idea behind the venture and some of its primary areas of specialization.
The idea behind Career Midas was to create a recruitment organization that would prioritize the needs of both clients and candidates and provides a personalized, holistic approach to recruitment and career development. At Career Midas, we understand that there can often be a gap between a client's expectations and a recruiter's understanding. This is why we place a strong emphasis on communication and building a close working relationship with our clients. By taking the time to fully understand their needs and requirements, we are able to provide a more personalized recruitment experience that is tailored to their unique circumstances.
"Instead of hiring for multiple industries, focus on one industry, which will help you gain vast experience, network, and understanding regarding that particular industry"
One way that we differentiate ourselves from other recruitment organizations is by not solely relying on sourcing candidates from regular job portals. We believe in the power of referrals and actively seek out potential candidates through our extensive network of contacts. This allows us to identify and attract top talent that may not be actively searching for job opportunities, and it also helps us to build a stronger sense of trust with our clients by demonstrating our commitment to finding the best possible candidates for their organization. The underlying idea behind Career Midas is to provide a comprehensive range of recruitment and career services that are designed to help individuals and organizations achieve their goals. We specialize in a number of areas, including executive search, talent acquisition, and career counseling. Our team of experienced professionals has a deep understanding of the job market and the skills and qualities that are in high demand across various industries. At Career Midas, we are passionate about helping individuals and organizations achieve success and reach their full potential. We believe in building long-term relationships with our clients based on trust, transparency, and mutual respect.

I am responsible for managing the company's finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and maintaining the company's brand image, including marketing, public relations, and social media. I’m also responsible to develop and implement a strategic plan that aligns with our long-term goals and objectives. As a leader in the recruitment industry, there are various challenges that I encounter on a regular basis. Some of these challenges include stiff competition, talent scarcity, meeting clients’ expectations, economic volatility, and more.To mitigate these challenges, we employ various strategies, including, building strong relationships with clients & candidates and emphasizing quality over quantity.
How do you foresee the Indian recruitment landscape evolving going forward? Any advice for budding women entrepreneurs in the same industry?
The future for the Indian recruitment industry looks very promising with the industry growing at a CAGR of around 20 to 25 percent. Most of the recruitment opportunities are coming from the service industry, which includesthe hospitality sector, telecom sector, travel sector, healthcare sector, and so on. Even foreign markets are eyeing the Indian talent pool for their recruitment. Since the pandemic, there has been a gradual shift in the interview pattern with virtual interviews being given maximum preference. Even organizations have adopted both work-from-home as well as hybrid models, helping the industry reach the next level. I can also foresee the involvement of various technologies and tools, especially AI tools, revolutionizing the recruitment industry. The advice I would like to give to budding entrepreneurs in the same industry is to try to concentrate on one industry at a time. Instead of hiring for multiple industries, focus on one industry, which will help you gain vast experience, network, and understanding regarding that particular industry.
