Establishing a sustainable livelihood ecosystem for women impacted by poverty holds immense significance. By providing avenues such as access to education, opportunities for skill development, and economic prospects, women can break free from the cycle of poverty. This transformation not only uplifts their own lives but also has a positive ripple effect on their families and communities. What are some important facets of your life and professional journey?
As a life coach and TEDx speaker, my journey started with co-founding Srujna Charitable Trust 12 years ago during my MBA in social entrepreneurship. We've empowered over one lakh women across 34 locations in India, connecting them to livelihoods and fostering dignity. The vast need for mindset empowerment inspired me to be a life coach, specializing in spirituality, and mindset transformation. Furthermore, I played a role in improving the mental well-being of individuals in rural areas by promoting social change through transforming mindsets, thus expediting its positive effects. Our charitable organization has been honored with accolades and showcased in renowned publications such as Your Story's Social Story, shedding light on our initiatives dedicated to promoting mental well-being. Thus, it's been an intriguing journey.
What motivated you to establish Srujna? Tell us about the underlying idea behind the social development initiative.
In India, women face distinct barriers when it comes to pursuing employment and achieving economic independence. These challenges are further amplified in communities with limited resources, slums, and villages. Even today, we witness situations where men migrate for job opportunities, leaving women behind with restricted resources and exposure. Their options are often limited to domestic responsibilities, goat rearing, or relying on government employment schemes. Mobility becomes a significant hurdle as they are unable to leave their homes due to domestic obligations. Furthermore, the lack of startup capital hinders their entrepreneurial aspirations. Recognizing these barriers, we embarked on a mission to bring work directly to them through our venture Srujna. We established partnerships with shelter homes, providing training and materials for jewelry-making, allowing the girls to earn an income within their confined space. We tackled mobility issues by setting up community centers, enabling women to access opportunities within their surroundings. Today, we continue to address barriers by offering startup capital and training, fostering an ecosystem where women can thrive and pursue meaningful work.

Tell us about some of the most memorable milestones you have achieved throughout your professional journey.
Our work is deeply enriched by the profound moments shared with women. One such instance occurred when we established a center in the village of Ajmer to aid those in dire need. Their warm welcome and openness touched our hearts, illuminating the true essence of India. It is a privilege to contribute to their lives. Another cherished memory is when I brought my infant daughter to a meeting, and the incredible support from the community allowed me to focus on my work while they lovingly cared for her. These experiences exemplify the power of collaboration and support. Delivering a TED talk felt like a miraculous milestone, overwhelmed with gratitude, tears streamed down my face, etching this memory forever.
