Having completed my B.Sc. (Pure Sc) in 2002, Diploma in Software Tech (CMC Ltd.) (1998) and PGDM / MBA in Public System Management from IISWBM (Indian Institute of Social Welfare & Business Management) (2005), I was fortunate to win an opportunity to work with Kuehne – Nagel India and learned Supply Chain core operations there through few of their Telecom & Retail Projects. Over the years, I focused on enriching my learning experiences through the Lean Six Sigma and acquired a certification on ICR Registered Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt). Being a part of one of the leading organizations of the industry, I always had the desire to enhance my knowledge in diversified sections. As a result, I stretched out myself and booked a slot for IELTS Test in 2018 Dec to prove my ability to serve international level and successfully came out with C1 level score.

Another addition to it, the astounding journey through academic platform is the addition of getting awarded by Goldman Sachs Scholarship to get enrolled in 10K Women Entrepreneurial Program at IIM Bangalore, NSRCEL to enrich and upgrade not only my academic qualifications but also to gain the experiences which are supporting me to excel my entrepreneurial journey to take our Start-up at the desired level and finally to get an entry into Goldman Sachs 10K Women alumni community worldwide.

My years of education and my career developments have continuously helped me in gearing up myself and elevating me to the next step of taking risks and challenges while facing any unforeseen situations in my journey.

Tell Us About Your Roles And Responsibilities At Routevisor Bay2bay Services Pl. Share Some Of The Challenges You Have Experienced Over The Years And How Did You Overcome Them?

Being one of the key persons of a startup and to be able to run a business on a lean model, it cannot be stick to only few or any particular roles and responsibilities. Founders are expected to don multiple hats, as we are responsible to carry out things on each role to suffice customers’ requirements. Being a customer focused organization, meeting client objectives is one of our utmost objectives which require honest attention to be paid in building as we make both our verticals successful now and in future days.

Since we are still in our nascent stage, there are numerous challenges that we come across, starting with the biggest one being fund management. While every day is a struggle, but as the saying goes, ‘when the going gets tough, the tough gets going’. It isn’t a new fact that pandemic has been a curse for all, and even when corporates struggled to survive, with strong and right business strategy and God’s Blessings, we have overcome the most impactful and precarious condition - pandemic - even when majority of business partners ( Airlines / Shipping Lines) and others had stopped giving any credit facilities and from Customers end also it was not possible all the time in getting immediate release of payments or unable to manage zero credit facility with them.

Our strong strategy and wise decisions, even in the odd times have helped us to survive and overcome the fund crunch as well in the most stressed phase. We have been very particular in choosing our Customers till today as we have to leave the opportunities to work with many big corporate accounts and conglomerates while observing their stringent payment policy and few other reasons although the prospects are lucrative and voluminous but the funds required to manage those accounts, were not possible for us being a young organization. However, we are hopeful since we have overcome all the preliminary stages POC, Prototype, MVP and we are at FSP (Full Scale Product) range for our International Logistics div. (Bay2Bay), hence, gradually we will be able to cover up fund raising activities successfully to bring the overall growth to the organization and to work with all top line corporate clients to build the long-term mutual business relationships and also would be able to take the other tech driven vertical through e-platform to successful MVP level by Q3 of 2022 as well.

How Do You Leverage Your Years Of Experience To Drive Routevisor Bay2bay Services Towards Success?

I hold over 16 years of rich industry experiences, are focused on Leadership, Strategic Vision, Business Innovation, Aiming to drive B2B & B2C supply chain, strong negotiation to bring down the operating cost and to utilize that cost into R&D for new product / service exploration, diving into e-commerce with tech driven solution to promote the un-organized segment of Industry, keeping focus on affordability at each level of customer with scalability by delivering ingenious business strategies through leveraging emerging technologies.

It is rightly said, always invest in yourself in gaining the knowledge today and it will keep on giving you dividends years after years. Hence, owing to my rich expertise in Supply Chain domain, I am not only confident but also enthusiastic to walk the extra mile to take the risks of setting an organization and building it upwards.

From working with brands like Kuehne + Nagel, Weiss – Rohlig, BILT, Gati-KWE, to managing the business operations, meaningful win-win negotiations with Business Partners & dealers, continuous working and taking additional responsibilities on mobilization of financial flow, cost reductions for the organizations of course looking at no loss situations at business partners end, Supply Chain audit compliances and taking additional responsibilities in different directions, all these collective experiences have given me a major hand in driving the start-up Routevisor Bay2Bay.

Tell Us About The Various Milestones That You Have Achieved So Far? According To You, What Is Your Guiding Leadership Philosophy?

No matter how big or small, each small achievement is like a milestone that inspires and motivates to go an extra mile. From performance gradation to each year’s cost reduction and savings on annual budget freezed by organization in my prior experiences are like achievements and milestones for me.

However, since the inception of Routevisor Bay2Bay, the most significant milestone that I have achieved is surviving the Covid19 pandemic. Since our journey began a couple of months prior to the time pandemic hit us, the entire team of Routevisor Bay2Bay was seen putting in extra efforts to plan to shape up, grow, build our e-platform. The drastic hit of pandemic brought the radical changes in our strategy and growth plans.

We had to re-organize ourselves, re-think on strategies to survive and overcome the precarious situation and strive to be alive. Now that we have overcome this challenge, there is nothing more bigger and significant milestone, I don’t think personally can be the achieved and remembered to motivate our stony journey so far to take the journey forward towards making many more milestones in coming days.

About my guiding philosophy, I follow two simple leadership principles which always keep me motivated. First is relational leadership, where trust and respect to the team and business partners comes automatically in strengthening the mutual bonds, we hold for each other, to support each other in the growth process. Second one is visionary leadership, which is the capability to see and predict the unlimited potentiality of the future which an individual entrepreneur should hold as a futuristic leader.

How Do You Keep Yourself Aligned With The Periodic Evolutions Occurring In The Industry?

The only evolution which is significant in today’s world is Technology. As the famous saying goes, ‘The Goal is to turn data into information through technology and information into insight’. Hence, I always pay attention on upgrading myself with recent and trends in technology which keeping on advancing in the industry and I try to implement those directly into business to allow ourselves as well as our organization to be predictive, prescriptive and perceptive.

As A Successful Entrepreneur What Would Be Your Advice To Future Business Leaders And Entrepreneurs?

To fulfill the aspiration to become the future entrepreneurs, I would like to suggest what I learnt in a very hard-way from my journey. Be patient as it takes time to create and grow something valuable. Stay updated about the trends of industry as it helps to drive in right direction and keep learning as nothing is greater than gaining knowledge. Never fear about failing as it will help you to learn to act on right way. And, lastly, always connect with people to expand your network as it becomes the biggest strength to achieve your goals.
