Seema Zaidi
Director, Fast Trak Solutions

Fast Track Solutions is a healthcare recruitment firm located in Dubai that has been in business since 2010. Fast Track Solutions is a focused and specialized healthcare consultant company with the vision of effectively bridging the “demand-supply” gap by understanding the client's needs in terms of their healthcare setup, compiling a well-scrutinized data bank of candidates, evaluating the candidates on local/regional regulatory laws, and providing timely communication.

In an exclusive interaction with Women Entrepreneur Magazine, Seema Zaidi Director Recruitment at Fast track solutions walks us through her professional and personal traits along with the various features of Fast Track Solutions.

Give Us A Brief Overview Of Fast Track Solution.

Fast Track Solutions is a Dubai-based healthcare recruitment consultancy, operating since 2010. The company has worked with several hospitals in the United Arab Emirates, delivering customised solutions to meet their needs. This is a specialized sector; many recruiting firms handle a variety of jobs, but we specialize in healthcare recruitment, and we exclusively work in the UAE and the Saudi Arabia. We began recruiting nurses in 2010 and soon discovered that there was a need for doctors as well as a market gap. So that's how we got started recruiting doctors in 2013, and there is no looking back since then.

Take Us Through Your Early Educational Journey. What Factors Motivated You To Venture Into The Field Of Recruitment?

I went to Sophia School in Mount Abu, graduated from Maharani's College in Jaipur with and then went on to pursue Management Studies in marketing and human resources from R. A. Podar institute of management, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, India.

We were already involved in the healthcare industry because my spouse runs a pharmaceutical firm in Dubai. When we first established Fast Track Solutions, I could see that there was a need in the hospitals, particularly for doctors, because there were only a few agencies conducting healthcare recruitment in the UAE. Further, human resources have always piqued my attention and wanted to pursue a career in it. As a result, the mix of human resources and healthcare was the ideal blend and motivator for me to establish my own firm.

What Are Some Of The Different Services That The Company Specializes In?

We provide customized solutions to our clients as per their specifications, budget, and the expertise needed from the doctors. Our primary market is the United Arab Emirates, where doctors are required to get certain medical licenses. As a result, we offer the service of processing medical licenses, which are required to operate in the UAE.

Further, the UAE is in the midst of a healthcare transition, as many new hospitals are opening and the economy is booming. As a result, hospitals have a lot of needs, and we're attempting to meet them with our expertise in recruiting western-trained doctors as well as specialty CVs that are tough to find for hospitals. We have successfully worked on many positions and some of them are Fetal medicine consultant, radiologist, neurologists, medical oncologists, Orthopedic surgeon, Gynecologist, Endocrinologist spine surgeons and many other specialties. These are the requirements we have in the UAE, and this is how we are attempting to give them particularized profiles that are difficult to find and suitable for the hospital departments.

As An Experienced Business Leader, How Do You Keep Yourself Well Aligned With The Periodic Evolutions Occurring In The Recruitment Industry?

We make it a point to be in touch with important opinion leaders and decision-makers in the healthcare business at all times. We also communicate with the Dubai Health Authority and Department of health which are government bodies, on a regular basis. In the UAE, there is a lot of change in the healthcare business, so we need to stay in contact with all of these decision-makers and understand what is going on in the market, as well as forecast what the market scenario will be in the near future.

“Entrepreneurship is not a born quality, it can be acquired if one is hardworking, consistent, and visionary”

Last year, the market scenario was such that no elective surgeries were performed as a result of Covid-19. Nurses and ICU physicians have to meet a slew of standards. So we had to forecast what the market condition would be, and we thought it would improve by the end of 2020. Meanwhile, we had completed few doctor's licensing process and prepared an extensive database of senior Doctors. So we were prepared with a number of specialized doctors on hand. As a result, we were able to meet the needs of hospitals for doctors as predicted. In addition, we have provided numerous CVs and interviews of front line doctors, as well as free assistance to a handful of hospitalists.

Given The Demanding Nature Of Your Job, How Do You Manage To Strike A Balance Between Your Work And Home Life? What Are Some Activities Or Hobbies That You Like To Give Time To?

At all times, I try to establish a balance between my personal and professional life. I have a 12-year-old beautiful daughter and a very supportive husband. My daughter is now grown up so the responsibilities have reduced. Previously there were more responsibilities while I was also building my business. I want to be as adaptable as possible so that I can work from home if necessary. People are working from home as a result of Covid, but even before the outbreak, I used to go early and work from home so that I could spend time with my child.

I don't have hobbies in particular, although I do like to travel. I enjoy seeing new locations and learning about other cultures. I would want to travel whenever I have the time and if the opportunity arises. I've visited a variety of nations and would like to see many more.

What Is Your Leadership Mantra? What Would Your Words Of Advice Be To The Aspiring Young Women?

Leadership, in my opinion, is about vision and responsibility rather than power. We must take our team into consideration, since it is a responsibility that falls on my shoulders. My advice to prospective female entrepreneurs is that entrepreneurship is a learned skill that can be developed through time. It's just a matter of working hard, staying consistent, and having a vision. I believe that these three traits can be learned; leadership is not an inborn trait.
