As a woman, Ritika’s instincts have always been empathetic and responsible, which acted in her favor during her entrepreneurial journey in the HR domain. Engaging in a special conversation with Women Entrepreneur, Ritika Bajaj explains her journey as a topnotch HR professional functioning significantly in the recruitment sector.
As the founder of Rajavi jobs, how has been your journey so far? Portray your leadership style and the part you play in the company.
As the proprietor of Rajavi Jobs, I have got a lot of manpower functioning under me who are ensuring seamless recruitment across various industry verticals. We are majorly focused on the manufacturing and engineering sector as we encountered a lot of opportunities in these unexplored sectors during our research with only a handful of recruiters contributing towards them, unlike other verticals. Although after the commencement, the journey of Rajavi Jobs was deliberate catering only 5-10 niche clients within the industry, it has been advancing progressively since the last 5 years, surfacing as a domineering recruiter brand within the industry. 5 years back, the launch of BNI Ahmedabad was the turning point of my life as it was the very first business forum I was introduced to and continued my education thereby pursuing my MBA at the age of 39. Getting married at an early age, although I had my b.com, I was eager to complete my higher education and to improvise my learning lessons and management skills which also furthered the growth Rajavi Jobs. Since then, we have been growing exponentially at an annual rate of 100 percentage and from 10 clients, we have now reached a significant position in the industry with more than 250 clients.
“Focused in enhancing the recruitment opportunities as a core functionality, Rajavi jobs operates across pan India under the guidance of Ritika”
As a founder of the company, what are the new strategies that you are looking to leverage in the future to significantly improve the performance of the company?
When I was heading the ‘Vibrant Startup Summit’ in Ahmedabad, the concept of ‘Plug HR’ was launched. It highlighted the fact that, although there are a lot of proficient HR consultants catering to the big corporate giants, the smaller firms are not even aware of the concepts of HR. In such a crucial scenario, the ‘Plug HR’ concept can be convenient for small firms or startups as they don't even need to keep a full-time HR in their company and can plug in a recruitment firm like us. Through ‘Plug HR’, we perform every HR relevant function including salary processes, grievance solving, managing policy-driven organizational structure, Growth Plan, KPI system, performance appraisal system, and many more.
After the COVID struck, the recruitment industry was highly affected, as a lot of companies started laying out the manpower, resulting in no recruitment at all for quite some time. It was a turning point for Rajavi jobs too, as we decided to diversify into the retail and FMCG industry. This strategy worked in our favour as the retail and FMCG sector is a promising domain with a lot of opportunities in the future.
How has been the support from your family in your professional journey so far?
My family plays an important role in my life and my husband has been supportive of me. Due to my business commitment, I have to travel a lot and give time to my profession. Being a businessman himself, he has managed everything very well has been a great support for our family. I was very skeptical to pursue MBA by the age of 39, but my father inspired me to overcome my fear and achieve success. My father and my aunt motivated me at every step and without their support, I wouldn’t have reached the current position. As a woman entrepreneur, maintaining proper balance in my life has always been a tough task for me. I manage my time cautiously so as not to overlap my personal and professional life.
What is your perspective towards women’s entrepreneurship? Are you engaged in any sort of mentorship programs?
Women play an integral part in our society, and in the future, the Indian economy is going to be built on woman entrepreneurs. There is a lot of scope for women entrepreneurs in the industry. A lot of companies which were men driven earlier and did not want woman manpower have started realizing that women are more dedicated and have higher job satisfaction and job retention ratio. Though there are still few sectors that are men-oriented, I think women are now diversifying into most of the sectors and are taking it forward. To nurture future woman entrepreneurs, I have been contributing consistently and organizing mentoring cells as well as incubation cells for Ficci Flo. I have been motivating women to organize their startups so that I can incubate and mentor them to grow.
