Take Us Through The Prior Industry Experience. What Motivated You To Venture Into The Field Of Nutrition And Fitness?
Studying nutrition appealed to me because it was the only course in which I could learn everything. I studied science and nutrition for seven years before pursuing a separate certificate in sports nutrition. Many individuals are unaware that nutrition necessitates a lot of education and studies from microbiology, biochemistry, and physics to chemistry. When I was studying, there were not many options to explore nutrition. People were unaware that something called nutritionists or dietitians are also there. When I finished my master's in nutrition, for five years I worked in Christian Medical College & Hospital as a clinical dietitian, laying my expertise in Neuro Sciences.
Another factor is that I used to be a really shy and introverted person. Significantly, I got my first exposure from CMC hospital wherein I performed one research project under the supervision of my professor, which was published in two international publications. This was a big thing for somebody who was a fresher and then I presented that research paper at the World Congress of neurology in Thailand. So that was the Kickstart to my journey which gave me that boost to do something in life with nutrition.
How Did The Idea Come About To Establish A Nutrition And Fitness Solution That Can Aid Clients In Countering Lifestyle Diseases?
Over the years, I have worked with several companies as a Dietician and I developed myself a lot. I never imagined myself as an entrepreneur since, as an introvert, I always assumed that I could only work under someone else. People around me, my friends, my clients, always urged me to build something on my own. I was still not sure, but while I worked for the prior company, I had a lot of medical issues, my stress levels were too high, the work environment was not ideal and eventually, I quit my job. And I begin to wonder; don't I have that much skill to earn what I was making in the previous firm? I simply decided to start and see what happens, and by God's grace, I was able to earn more than ten times what I was earning at the previous firm in my first month alone. And then that gave me a really good boost. And everyone around me, especially my clients with whom I was working, were too enthralled to see the outcome.
What Is The Underlying Philosophy Behind Wellness Vows?
There are a plethora of self-proclaimed fitness gurus who preach about some random stuff. And I've devoted my entire academic years to learning about nutrition science and proper sports nutrition. It inspired me to provide people with accurate information and facts. So that was my overarching philosophy. And, overall, I enjoy working with individuals, and seeing them getting healthier, flourishing, winning medals provides me with utmost joy.
Tell Us About Your Areas Of Expertise As A Nutritionist And Dietician.
No counseling comes along with it, but I would say I'm a good counselor. As a dietitian and nutritionist, I'm transforming people's lives. And when you're changing lives and talking to someone, you have to connect with them first. People must like you before they would appreciate the nutrition plan or any other advice you're providing them. Nothing will happen even if you provide world-class services to your customers if your rapport and communication with them are poor. So that's one of the most critical skills a nutritionist should possess. And that's the attitude I've established for myself; I've spent a lot of time working on myself to get to a certain point or to better my whole personality. So as a dietician and nutritionist, I would say I connect to people well, I'm able to make a difference in somebody's life by talking itself.
As A Successful Business Leader, What Would Your Advice Be To Young Women Aspiring To Become Business Leaders And Entrepreneurs In The Future?
There is no such thing as a perfect time, as I waited for it for a long time before deciding to step out. You won't get a perfect time unless you start. And you will not be able to achieve your goals in life until you have firsthand experience. Don't get stuck or comfortable in one circumstance; instead, make yourself uncomfortable to become comfortable. If you want to be an entrepreneur, make sure you have the necessary experience. Before you start your own business, you need to have at least some experience so you're not entirely naive about what you're going to do and how you're going to handle things. Finally, if you want to be an entrepreneur, you will need your family's support. So, to all people who wish to be an entrepreneur for their families, my urge is to support them.
