Indian interior design market was worth USD 23.2 Billion in 2020 and is projected to reach USD 38.2 billion mark by 2027, growing at a CAGR of 7.4 percent. The market is being driven by the booming real estate market. The growing popularity of smart homes, rapid urbanization, increased population and changes in lifestyle standards are contributing to this growth of interior design market in the country.

Women Entrepreneur India engages in a conversation with Pearl Mistry, Director of Della Group, in order to know more about Della's luxury architecture designing, real estate venture and the core philosophies it is governed by.

Give Us A Brief Introduction To The Functioning Of The Company.
Della Group was started by Jimmy Mistry 25 years ago. In this journey, we moved from interior architecture designing to setting up an adventure park and real estate sector. We escalated from Della Villas to Della Adventure Park, being India's largest extreme adventure park to six theme-based luxury resorts. We started Della Data, which is a military clamping space and hospitality experience. We set up India's first military training academy for families under the expertise of Ex-MARCOS Commandos and the former General of the Indian Army. And recently, we launched our visionary establishment, the Della Leaders Club. It is world's first business platform for entrepreneurs, professionals and young leaders. Currently DLC has 2300 members across 15 cities worldwide including New York, London, Dubai, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Indore and Ahmedabad. This is the magnitude and the scale at which we're operating at DLC.
Please tell us about the major milestones that have been achieved by your company so far.
The biggest milestone of Della Group is the founding of Della Leaders' Club. I have been a part of its founding team led by Jimmy Mistry from scratch that revolved around strategizing, branding with designing of the gallery. The journey to take the company from its seed stage to another level of business is unparalleled. The next milestone is about expanding Della Group across India and marking its presence internationally. Finally, we started resort property which is attaining the grandeur of 265 rooms. And this time with DLC, we took the endeavour to raise funding from the potential investors who believe in the vision of DLC and are keen to join us in this journey over the next couple of years. It has been indeed a big milestone for us.
What is your message for the women entrepreneurs in India?
I reflect on the social impacts that my organization has made by being involved with various organization and entrepreneurship programs. The women need to adhere to the right guidance, training or mentorship in order to thrive in business. Creating an ambience with people of right mindset will help the women flourish in their ventures. Most of the senior leaderships in Della Group are women. They are governing the head offices of Della. In my opinion, entrepreneurship evolves with the quality of leadership. The leadership attitude is essential in every walk of life. Having clarity about what one is enabling through their business initiatives, the value they are adding to it and what their organization is growing into are the utmost important things for business entrepreneurs. Another important advice for the women entrepreneur in the country is that they must overcome the age old stigmas and pre set notions which pose as hindrance in their way of achieving aims. Although the struggle is undeniably difficult, with true determination, well-planned stratagems and right assistance women can win the impossible and become successful entrepreneurs.
