What expertise have you developed as a leader in luxury real estate?

My focus lies in the high-end villa market within Dubai’s most exclusive neighborhoods. These villas range from beachfront properties and golf course residences to those affiliated with renowned hospitality brands or yet-to-be-built developments. This sector is continuously expanding, with over 3,300 new villas launched in just the first half of this year. In May alone, average villa prices surged by an impressive 21.8 percent year-over-year, particularly in prestigious communities like the Palm Jumeirah, where average price-per-square-foot rates exceed $1,400.

Navigating this competitive landscape requires a deep understanding of the preferences of ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs) who seek unparalleled quality in both products and services.

What inspired the establishment of Christie’s International Real Estate Dubai? Describe the vision behind launching this venture and its core areas of specialization.

After spending decades immersed in the Dubai market, I felt a strong drive to expand my influence and represent globally on an international stage. Being situated in a region highly sought after by ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs), with the U.A.E. expected to welcome the highest number of millionaires globally this year — many of whom flock to Dubai — presented a compelling opportunity.

Similarly, Christie’s International Real Estate recognized Dubai's appeal for luxury real estate investments. When the exclusive invitation to collaborate with them arose, it was a natural fit. My goal was to offer clients access to elite properties and services, catering to their discerning tastes in luxury real estate both locally and internationally.

What are your primary responsibilities as Managing Partner at Christie’s International Real Estate Dubai?

I collaborate closely with my fellow Managing Partner, Dinesh Chhatwani, to oversee the seamless operation of our business. Given the dynamic nature of our industry with rapid changes and tight deadlines, we believe in a hands-on approach. Currently, we manage operations across four offices with a dedicated team of over 70 staff members.

In addition to our presence in Dubai, we are spearheading our recent expansion into Ras Al Khaimah. This move aligns with the emirate’s ambitious plans, including the development of its first integrated gaming resort and several luxury hotels and real estate projects, positioning it as a future global luxury hub.

We engage across all divisions, including sales, marketing, and HR, to navigate these competitive markets effectively. Our success is anchored by a dedicated core team and an extended family; many of whom have been integral to our operations for over 14 years.

What are the most significant challenges you face in your current role, and how do you address them?

The real estate market in Dubai offers vast opportunities, but it also presents challenges such as unethical practices from companies seeking rapid success. While government efforts have largely curbed these practices, some outliers persist. Our approach is to uphold stringent standards of professionalism, trusting that our commitment to ethical conduct will distinguish us in the marketplace.

Describe a pivotal achievement in your career journey and your guiding principles for success.

A significant milestone for me was receiving the invitation to join the prestigious Christie’s International Real Estate brand. With a legacy dating back over 250 years, Christie’s International Real Estate operates in 50 countries across six continents, serving an exclusive clientele of ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs). When working with such discerning clients, respecting their time is paramount. My success mantra revolves around transparent communication—I believe in providing objective and honest advice. Our clients, who are highly accomplished in their respective fields, value this straightforward approach.

Advice for aspiring women entrepreneurs/ business leaders

Learn, listen and surround yourself with individuals who yearn for and strive towards the same thing. There is a thin line between openness to learn and downright self-doubt — the secret is to believe in your own abilities while also believing that you must constantly augment them. Self-belief is your winning force.
