Take Us Through Your Early Educational Journey And Prior Industry Experience That You Bring To The Table. What Are Some Important Features About Your Expertise As A Business Leader?
I have completed a master's degree in journalism from Asian College of Journalism, a master's degree in English literature from the University of Mumbai, and a master's degree in business administration from INSEAD. In the meantime, I worked as a subeditor for Mid-Day, Mumbai. I worked as a program producer for Manorama TV, Kerala. I have scripted cinema and made my directorial debut in 2019. I also serve as a Managing Director for Kerala Travels, which is a family business. Currently, I am the CEO of Seamless Technologies.
My expertise in media and management allows me to provide a wealth of experience from a variety of industries. I have experience in creating and managing digital platforms, influencer connections and events, and internal communications. My skills and teamwork contribute to the process of creating a collection of solutions spanning social media, travel and tourism, gamification, and a charity component dedicated to the psychological well-being of pandemic-affected people worldwide.
What Led To The Foundation Of Seamless Technologies And Resorcio? Throw Some Light On The Various Areas Of Expertise That Resorcio Is Known For.
Seamless Technologies is a group of people with specialized skills and lofty aspirations who want to provide accurate solutions to difficulties that develop in ever-changing digital environment. This collaboration led to the development of our product, Resorcio.
Covid-19 also played a key role in Seamless Technologies' and Resorcio's foundation. During the time travel business came to a halt, the film business came to a standstill, and theatres were closed. Robins Alappatt, co-founder of the company and I started exploring areas to diversify out of this seemingly barren environment, which is how Seamless and Resorcio came to be. So this is a startup and a resource.
Resorcio is an edtech platform that functions as a digital marketplace where users may share, sell, and buy digital and downloaded content. It's a ready-to-use content platform that provides users with a plethora of information on a variety of topics, including all major disciplines.
We witnessed a significant transition to online learning during the Covid19 crisis. India is currently the world's second largest market for ed-tech after the U.S. in order to differentiate our product from the competition, we consciously tried not to replicate any of the current trendy models. Instead, we focused on content aggregation sites, similar to a resource platform. On November 1st, we launched Resorcio. We have included regional languages, with content currently available in English and four South Indian languages, as well as some gamified features.
“Don't be afraid of failure: rather turn it around into an opportunity to learn and grow stronger”
Tell Us About The Various Roles And Responsibilities That You Currently Shoulder At Seamless Technologies. What Are Some Of The Most Challenging Aspects Of Your Role And How Do You Overcome Them?
As the CEO, my responsibilities include ensuring that our vision for Resorcio is on track on a daily basis and tasks are completed as swiftly as feasible. As a result, my major role is the balancing act.
The most difficult challenge I encountered was funding. It is quite tough to convince people to invest their money in the idea offered and to explain how the idea will be implemented. Another roadblock I faced was assembling the appropriate team since finding people that shared the same passion was difficult, especially with the start-up industry's expanding waves. It's difficult to find folks who actually resonate with your mentality.
Covid 19 has brought about the possibility of working remotely. So I am no longer restricted while looking for talent. We now have platforms, as well as a variety of different tools and services to help us collaborate.
What Have Been Some Of The Most Significant Milestones That You Have Achieved So Far? What's Your Vision For Resorcio's Growth Going Forward?
The first milestone that we achieved was Resorcio's debut in the market. The second milestone of significance was when we touched the 2-lakh visitor mark in less than a month. We also have a large number of repeat customers. People are signing up, and we're getting positive feedback which indicates that product appears to be a market fit.
My vision for Resorcio is to reach one million footfalls in three months, which I believe we will be able to achieve. We intend to introduce Hindi and Bengali content in the next five to six months. We are also in active discussions with several VCs to raise funding.
As A Successful Business Leader What Advice Would You Present To Young Women And Girls Who Aspire To Become Business Leaders & Entrepreneurs In The Future?
There are several wonderful, talented women who want to achieve something novel but are frightened of failing. I would suggest them to not be afraid of failure. Having a failed startup is a tremendous learning experience because it teaches you what not to do in the future. One also shouldn't be afraid to ask for help.
If possible, become a mentor for those in need because you can help them rebuild their lives. Maintain your peace of mind while the process is underway. Don't jeopardize your basic values or your health.
