EZE Cosmetics: Focusing On Skin Health For All Ages Naturally
Dr. Stacey Al-Ghawas
CEO & Executive Director, ÈZE Cosmetics
It would be fair to say that women in Kuwait are making significant progress towards changing their status and contributing to the economy's growth. ÈZE Cosmetics was established by one such woman named Dr. Stacey Al-Ghawas. The inspiration for ÈZE comes from the universal appeal of the Côte d'Azur, France, with its ancient old-world traditions, natural beauty, and luxurious but leisurely lifestyle. As a world traveller, she noted the similarities between Èze's lifestyle and the chic vibe throughout her favorite places in the world. She combined the magic of ÈZE with California's New World science and research capabilities to create the ÈZE Way line of high-quality, nature-based skincare products. Women Entrepreneur India is delighted to engage in an exclusive interview with Dr. Stacey Al-Ghawas.
Please give us a brief overview of ÈZE cosmetics. What motivated you to create a brand that creates high-quality, nature-based skincare products?
ÈZE Cosmetics began as a family business where I work together with my brother Bill Carpenter and son Khaled, utilizing our love for science to promote a high-quality line of facial moisturizers that guard the skin against environmental damage, rejuvenate and promote a youthful, healthy complexion.
With 17 years of experience as a Salon and Day Spa owner in Kuwait, I am passionate about women's health and beauty. I know first-hand how high-quality, natural ingredients, enhanced by science, help fight to age, promote hydration, encourage cell renewal, and improve health as well as increase confidence and beauty. I bring a 360o approach to understand how the body and mind, health, and beauty are integrated for overall wellness.
Furthermore, the ÈZE team includes Rebecca Volz and Muriel Alphonso, and we are all motivated to create and share high-quality, luxury skincare products scientifically formulated to harness the power of nature to promote and maintain healthy skin and create a fresh and youthful appearance for you!
Tell us about the various roles and responsibilities you shoulder at ÈZE cosmetics. What are some critical business challenges that you face in terms of leading the organization?
As the CEO, I am at the center of coordinating all strategic and operational initiatives within the company. This includes product research and development, marketing and social media, online sales, order fulfilment, legal, financial, and regulatory responsibilities. My background and experience, together with those of my ÈZE team of experts, make this a challenging but exciting and fun role.
In a world where change is the only constant, how do you keep yourself well aligned with the periodic evolutions occurring in the industry and the technology domain?
As an online ecommerce business with a social media following, you must constantly be learning to remain competitive. The worldwide COVID epidemic launched our company into the dynamics of virtual meetings, enabling us to keep in touch globally through the un-certain business environment. We also rely on a close network of passionate ÈZE Brand Ambassadors who support us in India, France, Portugal, Kuwait and Dubai.
Because the ÈZE team travel and are located world-wide, we utilize virtual meetings, What's App chat groups, and email extensively to keep in touch daily.
“I bring a 360o approach to understand how the body and mind, health, and beauty are integrated for overall wellness”
In addition, there are always scientific discoveries that impact our business, and we must always be aware of the improvements being made in the skincare industry. There are constantly changing rules and regulations, so we must update our knowledge daily through special publications.
How has your journey been as a business leader in kuwait over the years? In your opinion, what are some of the most significant business milestones that you have achieved throughout the journey?
I recently served as the Director of Program Strategy and Development in the Kuwait National Cultural District: Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Cultural Center's Performing Arts complex and museums, including six science museums in the Sheikh Abdulla Al-Salem Cultural Center, the Al-Shaheed Park Museums, and the Al-Salam Palace Museum.
I am also a US Certified Dale Carnegie Trainer working with The American University of Kuwait's Center for Continuing Education (CCE) to offer corporate training courses in a wide variety of subjects that include emotional intelligence, leadership, management, negotiation skills, time management, innovation, leading high-performance teams, high impact presentations, and marketing and sales.
Moreover, as a philanthropist, I am the founding and first President of Soroptimist International Club Kuwait, an official Kuwaiti NGO that promotes the physical and mental health and wellbeing of women and girls locally and internationally.
I recently published a novel “Kuwaitiya Amerikiya, A California Girl in Kuwait” that chronicles the journey of a businesswoman in Kuwait.
