What are some important features and expertise a leader should have? What is your guiding leadership philosophy?

Leadership styles and approaches often vary widely across organization sizes, industries and sectors. However, one common trait that a leader must have is the ability to build a great team that is happy. Apart from this, it's crucial to have integrity as a character and be the epitome of empathy, humanity, trust, and humbleness.

My focus and expertise both lie in creating workplaces that are conducive for people to perform and be happy. My ability to communicate my visions and pass on creative approaches to solve problems is my biggest strength. I strive to understand people's problems by putting myself in their shoes.

Let's talk reality! We can't simply eliminate all demands and pressures of work, but we can at least foster organizational cultures that are positive and encouraging to employees. Trust me, positivity and a good vibe really matter and every leader should be capable of giving such energy to make the entire team feel everything will be okay. Also, I believe in translating my creativity and adaptability. While being available for them all the time, my goal has been to create a workplace that brings people's best foot forward.

Throw some light on your journey before Rentkart.

My corporate career happened because I dreamt of it and I stayed determined. But ironically, if you would have asked this two years ago, I would have never thought that I would be a corporate professional. Although I have been very much inclined towards working in the segment, I ended up joining the teaching line after pursuing English honors, MA, and BEd. I got an opportunity to work with some of the best international schools like Amity and others. However, I decided to move and pursue my dream. Leaving a permanent job was filled with a lot of No's instead of Yes from my family, friends, relatives, and everyone else. But I did what felt right and took steps out of my comfort zone. I wanted to grow and achieve a lot and didn't fear taking the risk. Since then, there is no turning back. Today, here I am at Rentkart; truly enjoying every opportunity, and making myself & my family feel proud. My family always knew that I had a spark to achieve something great. Hope I am living up to their expectation and that's my greatest milestone.

Highlight your responsibilities at Rentkart and your contribution to the company.

As a General Manager, I oversee the daily business operations of the company and train other low-level managers and staff. While developing and implementing growth strategies, my ultimate aim is to increase the bottom line and top line of the company. In the few months of my journey with the company, the best contribution from my side would be the high-performing team. The dextrous troop of professionals I have spotted is extremely capable of delivering excellence. As a person with a high degree of and managerial capabilities, I always focus on motivating the team as they are the asset for our growth. Nevertheless, retaining them within the company and helping them grow as professionals is also important.
