A few weeks ago, Women Entrepreneur Magazine got an opportunity to catch up with Dr. Dipti Patil. During the interaction, the innovative Physiotherapist shared some of the key features of her leadership journey at Aarrosh Clinic so far and a lot more.
Excerpts from the recent interaction:
Tell us about your expertise as a pediatric physiotherapist and the various forms of ailments you resolve? How has the field experience contributed towards honing your skills as a medical professional and as the Founder of Aarrosh Clinic?
My team at Aarrosh Clinic and I work as an early intervention pediatric therapist. We ensure that a child does not face further complications and they become functionally independent during their developmental age. We primarily deal with children with Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders (ADHD), Learning Disability (LD), Down’s Syndrome, Genetic disorders, Sensory Processing Disorders, and so forth.
Before starting my clinical setup, in 2004, I was working in a small clinical pediatric setup. There, I learned the major concepts in pediatric physiotherapy from my mentor. I was the lead physiotherapist handling all children with disabilities, including their assessments, planning their treatment protocol, and setting up their future goals for functional activities and their participation in society. This experience gave me immense confidence to handle and treat children efficiently. Then, a couple of years down the line, I decided to have my Clinic with the support of my husband and family members, and thus, Aarrosh Clinic was born.
I founded Aarrosh clinic in January 2009. I wanted to give children a holistic development and a complete set of therapeutic treatments under one roof.
How has your journey been while leading Aarrosh Clinic so far? What facets of your personality and leadership style have helped you cement the Clinic’s position in the market?
It was a very exciting journey, managing and balancing personal and professional tasks.
Leadership is a complexly balanced relationship of courage, compassion, strength, commitment, and trust. As a woman in the healthcare industry, I strive to lead by example every day- practicing the same behaviors I want others to follow.
Since childhood, I have inclined my career goals, I was very determined to achieve what I wanted in my life. My family support and constant motivation from my team members and clients helped me to grow in this field.
What would your words of advice be to young women aspiring to foray into the field of medicine and healthcare?
For many women, the eternal question is, “how do I manage my home life and work-life?” Balancing on these fronts is a critical task. I know that we can do so much for women to propel them forward. From personal experience, I know that it all starts at home. As a leader, you must be passionate, and it’s imperative to anchor the team towards the collective good. Also, it is important to recognize that each individual team member is motivated by diverse and unique factors. Know what being good and doing good looks like for yourself, and then have the courage and discipline to stay true to it at the end of the day.
