Energy Revolution is only a Dream without Women Energy is central to nearly every major challenge and opportunity the world faces today, including poverty eradication, gender equality, adaptation to climate change, food security, health, education, sustainable cities, jobs and transport. And the lack of access to energy hinders economic and human development. Realizing this fact, today every industry is leaping towards preserving energy and natural resources and more industries are coming forward to address environmental issues including resource depletion, climate change, and environmental protection to ensure access to clean and affordable energy. However, achieving sustainability by this Energy revolution will be a dream only with excluding women from the energy sector. As women holds the potential to bring more efficiency, more competitiveness and more human sensibility to any business irrespective of size.

Women Representation: The energy sector has historically been a male-dominated field. As per a recent report, woman only account for 16 percent of the traditional energy sector and even less for management level roles. Well, there are reasons. The barriers women face in the energy sector are like those they face in any other field or industry. However, the challenges of the energy sector are more pressing since the sector is going through a process of transformation. Today clean energy transition looks for innovative solutions and business models to shift the gear in energy, but it is nearly impossible without proving equal opportunity and diversity and inclusion which refers to growing professional community of women in energy field, enable women to reach top decision-making positions and bring women board mandates to a visible level.
