Soft skills are very important in the workplace management and proper leadership. These are personality qualities and behaviors which are related to how one works, interacts with colleagues and how one is managing work & solving problems. These are vital for the success of the job. Some of the soft skills like time management, listening skills, networking, teamwork, creative thinking, and conflict resolution are vital in any work space. According to a research revealed by Hay Group division of Korn Ferry, women outperform men in 11-12 of the key emotional intelligence areas. Women score higher than men on nearly all emotional intelligence competencies, except emotional self-control, where no gender differences are observed. This indirectly says the reason behind another research revealed a few months ago, which says that organizations with women in boardroom position proved to be more profitable than that of other organizations. Other than emotional intelligence, women also outperforms men in other competencies like coaching & mentoring, influence, inspirational leadership, conflict management, organizational awareness, adaptability, teamwork and achievement orientation.
