Women opting for sales job are less in our country. Out of half of the college-educated workforce, women hold less than one third of B2B sales jobs. Sales is often not considered as perfect job for women. According to 2019 Bureau of Labor Statistics data, women are underrepresented in B2B sales in most industries, including 27 percent in wholesale and manufacturing and 30 percent in financial services. Even though many researches shows that women sales person outperforms their men counterpart, women are not preferred for sales job. The job requires lot of travelling and meeting up with lot of personalities. Travelling is one of the problem which makes society abide women from sales job.

The things are worst at higher level. Even in female dominant sectors like hospital sector and HR only countable women are breaking glasscieling to reaching higher positions. So what will be the case of a job where less women are recruited and even encouraged at base level. There are only very few brave women who have challenged the society and have proved themselves in the sales.

Getting women in to STEM has become a discussion over the world, it is equally important to get women in to sales job. According to reports women represent 39 percent of the workforce in sales. This percentage has only increased by three percent over the past decade. However the percentage decreases with increasing seniority. Only 21 percent of Vice Presidents in Sales are female whereas VP and CXO positions represent lowest percentage.
