Top 10 Corporate Women Leaders In Goa - 2022
Goa is the safest state for women in India. According to a newly-formed Gen-der Vulnerability Index (GVI) by NGO Plan India, Goa topped the list. The GVI attempts to `generate a normative consensus' on status of girls and women in India, taking into account four core dimensions: Educa-tion, health & survival, poverty, and protection. The state stands ahead of other states of the country in terms of education, economy and living standard.
The state was last to acquire freedom in India. Even after India acquiring freedom from British, Goa continued to be under the rule of Portuguese. The state was liberated from Portuguese rule, on December 19, 1961. From the day, till date, the state has shown immense progress in all aspects when compared to other states of India. Socio-economic indicators place Goa as one of the most prosperous states of the country. Goa's economy has improved during the last 56 years, and it has developed in all the major sectors like agriculture, fishing, construction, manufacturing, transport and tourism. Not only economy, the state has come a long way in terms of literacy and freedom & safety of women.
The state, blessed with scenic beauty, is always a favorite destination for vacations, weddings, National & International events/seminars and also Film Festivals. Hence, tourism sector flourished, and this created immense opportunity for growth of various businesses. The state attracts many tourists both Indian and foreign to spend relaxing, heartwarming vacations on the beautiful sea sands, witnessing the rising morning sun, gliding through the waves and enjoying golden rays of evening sun.
